Jesse Joaquin Parker is a dynamic percussionist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jesse is recognized as a thrilling performer on the vibraphone and a force on Latin percussion as well as a dedicated educator and ambassador of Afro-Latin music. Jesse currently performs regularly with Nosotros all over the Southwest and has had a regular engagement at the world-famous jazz room in Phoenix, The Nash, with the stalwart Latin Jazz group, Carmela y Màs. Jesse Joaquin has performed in stages ranging from DROM in Manhattan to The Nuyorican in San Juan and to The Telluride Jazz Festival. Jesse Joaquin has performed and recorded with Marcos Crego, Nosotros, Radio La Chuzma, Bàta Irè, Ritmo Latino, Carmela y Màs, Chris Jàcome, Mike Crotty Jazz Quintet, Tambù International Orchestra, Dom Moio, Joe Bourne, Morris Alan, and Charity Lockhart.
Jesse Joaquin Parker has served as director of the Latin Jazz Ensemble and the World Music Ensemble at Paradise Valley Community College, a Teaching Artist at Phoenix Conservatory of Music, and an Associate Faculty Lecturer at Arizona State University. Jesse is currently Director of Percussion Studies at New Mexico School for the Arts.
Jesse Joaquin Parker performs and records on Tycoon Master Series Pinstripe congas and bongo as well as the Acrylic Roundback Zebrano Plate Cajòn and a wide variety of other Tycoon percussion instruments.
