Yoga of Drumming is thrilled to announce our first event in Santa Fe since moving here from Arizona! We are teaming up with StudioNia as host for an afternoon of breathing, movement, and drumming. We will explore the synergy of our bodies, minds, and spirits, using sound and motion as our meditation and rhythm as our mantra!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Save $5 by registering for the class early. Instruments and space are limited. We are capping enrollment for this workshop at 25. Please RSVP early to reserve a spot in the class here:
We also ask, if you own a djembe or conga style hand drum, please bring it!
About this workshop:
Rhythm is life and life is rhythm....
Transcendental Rhythm: The Yoga of Drumming combines the practice of drumming and conscious bodywork to help participants attune their bodies with the celestial and universal rhythms in sonic form. Balance, awareness, listening and meditation are enhanced through this unique fusion of rhythm practice and yoga.
Jesse Joaquin Parker, professional percussionist and professor of music, will guide participants in an exploration of drumming technique, rhythmic discipline, and auditory independence while connecting body movement, internal rhythm, and hemispherical independence. A variety of traditional rhythms including those of West Africa, the Caribbean, and South America will be incorporated into the practice.
